Sequoyah's Cabin Built 1829

Sequoyah built his cabin by his own hands in 1829 it still stands today in "Sequoyah's Cabin State Park" located on highway 101 NE of Sallisaw Oklahoma.

The ten acre park has beautiful rolling landscapes along with historical markers that tells a lot of history of the Cherokee people, it's a great place to enjoy and learn about our Oklahoma History.

Sunday Morning Walk

This morning I took a walk down main street in Westville Oklahoma, as I was gazing at all the historical sites I had to stop to take a picture of the old Buffington Hotel. If anyone knows anything about Westville then you know on just about any given day you can drive or walk by and you will see the owner of the hotel "Bud Rose" setting outside.

He is always friendly and will be happy to tell you the history of the hotel. It was built in 1907 and on the 9th day of March 1984 he was awarded a Historical Plaque from the "Office of Archeology and Historical Preservation Department of the Interior Washington D.C."
